Professor V. Srinivas Chary is the Director of the Centre for Environment, Urban Governance, and Infrastructure Development at ASCI. He provides the strategic direction to the Centre and leads its advisory, consulting research and capacity development programme. He is also the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Urban Development at ASCI instituted by the GoI. As an urban environmental planner and public health engineer with over two decades of experience in WASH, urban infrastructure services, governance reforms and equity he has undertaken over 200 research studies. His portfolio spans policy, programming, capacity development and knowledge management for national, state and city governments. He engages with multilateral funding agencies, governments, the corporate sector, private donors, academic and political leadership for promoting WASH. He mentors start-ups associated with the circular economy, waste management and water supply for achieving scale with impact. He serves on various Inter-Ministerial and Department level Committees on urban development, smart cities and environmental sanitation. He is also a committee member of the GOI’s reinventing the toilet programme and national FSSM Alliance. He was a member of the Steering Committee on Urbanization for the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017), a recipient of the Water for Life UN-Water Best Practices Award (4th edition), he has also been conferred the Ashoka Fellowship for his innovations in the WASH sector.

Dr. K.E. Seetha Ram is concurrently visiting professor at the Center for Spatial Information Science, University of Tokyo, Japan, and special advisor to East Japan Railways Company (JR East) for India High Speed Rail. Between 2013-2017,He acted as the focal point for ADB-wide knowledge management, working to spur innovative solutions to the varied development challenges in Asia. From 2008 and 2012, He was on secondment to the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, as ADB visiting professor and founding director of the Institute of Water Policy and NUS-Global Asia Institute. Prior to joining ADB, he worked as an expert in Japan on project finding, formulation, management, and technology transfer in about 30 official development assistance projects funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation in more than 10 Asian and African countries. He has published numerous books, contributed to edited volumes, and refereed papers on water-related issues, including sanitation, water management, and climate change.

Dr. Rajarshi Banerjee is a faculty at the Centre for Environment, Urban Governance and Infrastructure Development at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). With a professional experience of more than 1.5 decades encompassing academics, research and advocacy in the field of Environmental Biotechnology, Rajarshi holds a PhD in Science (Microbiology) along with an MBA (HR) to his credit. An ardent research planner, implementer & achiever with multicultural experience spearheading curriculum development, teaching, training & development in the field of Water Sanitation and Hygiene. Skilled in operation, maintenance and monitoring of decentralized wastewater treatment systems and fecal sludge/septage he has been passionate in bringing about constructive changes within the sector through research and advocacy.
His profuse practical and field-based research experience in waste water analysis and septage management has put him in line with the present breed of septage management researchers globally. His work on antibiotic resistance spread in environment and genetically modified foods has led the government of India (ICMR and FSSAI) to come up with draft policies and NAPs.
He has been invited as a speaker in many international and national events/conferences. With more than 30 publications in peer reviewed journals of national and international repute, he remains in the editorial board of several international journals, special issues and books.
An efficient communicator with strong professional commitment towards environmental advocacy his areas of interest are training in the area of Fecal Sludge Management especially into Capacity Building and advocacy in this sector.
